The doors to fruit and vegetable purveyor’s Basil & Tom’s on Churchfield Road closed 3 months ago in-line with COVID-19 government guidelines and a date is now set for the re-opening.
During lockdown, Basil & Tom’s has been running a delivery-only service for their fresh fruit, vegetables and essentials box. As well as a return to their bricks and mortar shop, upgrades to their online offering will also take place.
As online orders continue, the shop itself will be open from Saturday 8th August with the necessary social distancing policies in place. Specific opening hours can be found on the website and on the shopfront with a full service beginning in September.
Behind the scenes, Basil & Tom’s are currently working on a new website to include more online shopping options and additions to the fruit and vegetable boxes. The customer journey on the website will also be improved, with upgraded navigation allowing users to easily find products and suspend their delivery as needed.
To keep up with demand and in response to the movements of the local community, the online shop will be taking a summer break from Monday 3rd August, resuming deliveries again the week commencing Monday 7th September. Basil & Tom’s will be putting customer accounts on hold during this time and will provide delivery day updates via email when they restart.
September will see a new selection of products available on the online shop to add to a regular fruit and vegetable box delivery. These will include a selection of grocery items such as pulses, oils, honey, soups, biscuits and crackers.
In response to customer feedback, Basil & Tom’s will also be launching a new combined box with three fruit and five vegetables each week at £14.50 for those living in smaller households, or those shopping for one.
Adding another improvement to their service, Basil & Tom’s will provide regular emails ahead of a delivery to inform customers about what will be in that weeks fruit and vegetable box, which is subject to change and dependant on the selection of quality, seasonal and fresh produce available at the market that week.
We are now looking forward to joining our fellow Churchfield Road businesses in welcoming you back through our doors. We’d like to take this opportunity to say a big THANK YOU for supporting us over the last few, challenging months. – Max and Gabby Mahadeo, Basil & Tom’s.
